Perhaps you have seen these clamps somewhere?

I am gathering the parts and pieces for the shotgun mount I am designing/building for my BBSB. Looking for some clamps that will grip around the dodger frame, without going a full 360 deg, and having to cut the canvas.....

These would be perfect, and I can order a couple of these to get the clamps, but I would rather just order what I need....

Anyone have an idea of the OEM?

Dave,
Ran into a similar situation with the spray dodger supports for our Whistler & Kid Brother Layout boats. Needed to support the curtain.
I bought some bimini clamps and band sawed a bit out of the end of them for the Front Supports of the Whistler and out of the side of them for the side curtain Supports for the Whistler & Kid Brother. To install them, I soak them in hot water to soften them and use a spreader to install them onto the curtain bar. When they're cool, they hold well and never had a failure.

Lou, nice idea, but for what I am planning, I will want to be able to attach and remove for trailering. I found the same as in the photo for less thand 50% of the first site... so if I can't find just the clamps, the cost is not unreasonable.... But I think I will use your idea on a layout refurb happening this Summer...

Thanks, Dave

Dave,

Can't help you with a source but you should be able to duplicate that clamp pretty close. A wing bolt would serve in place of the cam lever. Not quite as fancy but should still be easy to clamp and remove.

Other end of clamp would of course be designed as needed for your application.

Dave, your suggestion was my original plan, but when I saw these today at Daytona it got me thjinking... I have some IPE pieces that would handle the stresses well. But what I had drawn up will end up being bulkier. I'll mess with some scrap wood to see how it lays out. Thanks for the suggestion... Dave

Thanks Jim, I did check there and did not see them. McMaster-Carr is usually where I go first for hardware and parts. Next day delivery is sweet! Did you see them there? I may have used the wrong search words?

Dave

I looked after I made my post....couldn't find anything either.

Have you tried contacting the company that sells the gizmo that has that clamp on it? You might be able to buy it from them as a "replacement part"....???
