Pigeon fun !!!!

Did a little bit of hunting one day this past week. Got to hunt over some of Chuck Huff's homemade pigeon silo. that joined up with some of mine. Had a little bit of fun !! I'm getting ready to get started on a half dozen full body wood decoys and then I'm going to do about 3 or 4 dozen full body fomers. I'll be sure to post up some pictures of the decoys during the process. I may even try to get Rutgers out with us before they start to nest.

You don't have to make decoys, Just put a few of them in the freezer and recycle the every time you go out.

Nice shooting I don't think there is anything as fun to shoot a pigeons over decoys. I picked up 2 dozen carry lites from Knoutsons in MI. Next time try a motorized spinning duck decoy like a mojo duck if you haven't already. The spinning wings pull the pigeons in like they are on strings.

Your eyes didn't fool you, those are in fact crows. We did a little combo hunt with both crow and pigeon decoys. I wasn't quite sure how the pigeons would react to the crow call and decoys but it didn't seem to effect them too much, they didn't decoy all the way in though as they normally would but they worked to within 10 or 15 yards.

Of course the spinners had to come out; this isn't my first pigeon shoot. This was one of the smaller ones though, usually we kill around 30-50 birds.
