Pure Redneck.

a luxury gun for me would be a wingmaster, with that nice duck flaring shine

but i like my borrowed model 120 winchester thats got character etched into it by the mastercrastsman of the marsh (rocks, dogs, trees, ice)

so...looking at the NY gun shop, clicking on the list of guns...gulp...um, wow...

I guess since it is not 3 or 3.5" I'll have to pass.....I am sure it is not the 130 K price tag that makes me pause...wow.

It would be cool just once in my life to go and get fitted, then have a custom made gun...just to see how it feels

Getting fitted to a gun is not that expensive at all. Did this with my M1 many years back and what a difference it made. Cost me less than $50 at the Minnesota Horse and hunt club or something like that. I didn't have the custom gun built around the fitting but they made some big changes on the Benelli.

I didn't see them weaving any camo patterns on any of the looms. I don't think I saw any pipes being smoked anywhere either. My how times change.

the royal grade double rifle in 700 nitro was 150,00 euro

if I hit the lottery I still would not be able to afford that lifestyle

Do you think they would give me a loaner to try in the salt marsh to see if I like it?

Actually Jeff, the organizers said there was a case of RST shells in 2 1/2" 12 ga. for the person with the highest combined score. Most of the guys shooting the classy guns didn't even keep score but "I" did. What the heck, right? Someone was going to take home those shells - and it was me. I was shooting a SKB 385 Sporting Clays in 20 ga.

Good on you, Pete! Of course, I suspect the owners of those guns can afford their own shells. Hell, they probably have custom reloaders on staff.

Did you know that Holland and Holland is now owned by Chanel? Yep--the same folks who make perfume and the perfect "little black dress".

I remember reading back when Larry Hagman was big with Dallas TV show that he went and bought a H & H and took it into the duck blind.....just because he could. If my memory serves me correctly that gun was somewhere around 98K.

For the price of just one of those guns I could build the boat of my dreams, have more decoys than I knew what to do with, pay off a good chunk of my mortgage, put my kids through a year or two of college, and still have enough left over to buy an 870 Wingmaster in every gauge. Just goes to show that you can't buy common sense.

Phil...yep...that IS what the site said....

Pete, I remember you telling me about the shoot. If you come up again, let me know. I might join you or at least go out and ogle the guns.

Phil and Pete....LBD/guns/perfume are some of THE BEST combinations I can think of.
