Question for those that participate in the "What's On Your Work Bench" Monthly Thread

Wow, I'm blown away by the response and generosity to share your efforts. I looked at the workbench posts for just the past two months alone and was amazed by the quality and quantity. I mean I read them every day, but if you step back and look at the batch as a whole it is even more impressive. The carvers on this site have really given us some awesome material to work with and the craftsmanship goes even broader than that.

The picture below was my first selection and it is being very well received, which is no surprise to me. Somehow this website attracted the most talented people in the waterfowling community and kept it going year after year. That is no small feat, especially when you consider how many duckhunting websites started and are no longer around. This gives me cause to reflect back over the years and I am damn proud of the community of friends we've built and all that has been so freely shared. There isn't an online duck hunting community that packs more talent and knowledge than this place, and you guys (and gals) do it with style and substance. Take that FACT and add to the other fact we provide a place that isn't bombarding you with ads, pop-ups, and sponsorships and I think you have the most unique and attractive site left on the internet. I know of no other like us. I am PUMPED and EXCITED over the future and think you should be too, and thank all of those who got us here. Hell yeah!

Eric,

The knowledge, experience, and wisdom concerning ALL aspects of waterfowling on duckboats far exceeds any other on line platform that I have seen.

It is truly phenomenal.

For me it is a learning center, and gathering place, more than anything else. This is very important if we want to grow our ranks, and continue the North American Waterfowling way of life.

Ask a question? Seek help of some kind?

A member will respond, to help, or to point in the proper direction.

Not having a "puter" until 2011. I am far from tech savy, but do recognize quality when I see it, and read it.

IMO duckboats.net = Quality.

Thank you for being so passionate and dedicated about what you truly believe in.

You have good reason to be PUMPED and EXCITED concerning the future.

Best regards
Vince

Rick

Thank you. I totally agree, Vince's gunning box is a really neat item. I was just telling Vince that going through old pics on the site has been fun as I've been treated to some great projects from the past and reminded of just how talented the folks here are. This just motivates me more to perpetuate what we have.

If I'm posting pics on here, I'm assuming the general public is seeing anyway

true--- assuming the general public looks at the website, - probably not as many or as often as instagram

Rick

I don't know what the Instagram "views" are, just likes and shares, so I have no idea how many people see a pic there vs. here. The monthly workbench threads here get A LOT of views so they might be seen more here, but it might also be the same people checking multiple times, who knows. Regardless the reception over there has been terrific and we have had a spike in registrations here so it is working. Now we just need to the new members to step out and introduce themselves.

true - it would be informative if our Instagram accounts gave better stats such as how many viewed verses how many liked a post

BUT- if you are getting attention for the board - that is the critical thing-

Man O Man do I like that old photo. [smile]

Pure joy on Mr. McGaw's face, about what he has created, and how much he loves waterfowling.

Plus I'm am a big fan of Flats & Upper Bay decoys.

Keep on digging deep Eric.

What you are unearthing is the history of North America, and the role waterfowling had, and still has.

Social Media, as a learning tool that opens eyes, draws interest, and educates gets my vote.

With the downturn in waterfowling and decoy shows, for whatever reasons...

When one door closes, another opens.

Thank YOU for recognizing that, and your forward thinking.

Your work is paying off, folks are responding.

Best regards
Vince

I skimmed over your posts and the little can by the quarter is a neat picture likely to be used. Thank you.
