Rangeley, Maine...NDR

Troy,
my dad made the trek up to Kidney pond with his father in law and brother in law more than a few times when he married my mom. They all talked about those trips at family gatherings.
I plan on doing one with John and Ashley.
Great pictures on the mountain. It brings back a lot of memories of the view in the winter from the ski trails of New England. I do miss that.

Nothing quite like snow stuck to stuff sideways.

Bob, You really hit a soft spot in my heart when you talk of Kidney pond. I've been fishing there with my dad since 1981, a sophmore in high school. That's back when it was privately operated by the Norris family. Those were some special days! The Baxter State Park organization has done a nice job keeping everything as it was, within reason, the park rangers are still reluctant to fix my supper after fishing all day, LOL. All kidding aside, if you are a fly fisherman (person) and are looking for a unique outdoor fishing experience you should check out Baxter State Park.

Thanks for the mental trip that just sparked.

I have a camp in Kingfield, so I spend my winters at Sugarloaf, but I fish the Rangeley area a lot. Beautiful country to get lost in...

Troy - Looks like this area actually had winter ! Have not been up in that neck of the woods in some time and really enjoyed the trip. Brought back great memories of taking my daughter skiing. After a while, I got smart and brought her friends along. That way when I got tired, I could concentrate on the "lodge" while the kids kept skiing.
thanks for posting !

Troy: Great photos! I see they're still feeding the deer in Oquossuc . . . .

I had to schedule a meeting with a colleague whose office is in Rangeley, and we settled on 3/22. She reminded me that if we waited until April 1, I could wet a line, too!
