Re coating FG floor

I picked up a well used Carolina skiff that has numerous surface cracks and dings on the floor. Before I set it up, I'd like to re-surface and seal it up.
Have a few ideas but am looking for opinions on what type material to use.
The FG is, I'm sure, regular polyester resin. It doesn't need to be pretty, just a tough, skid free surface.
Thanks, George.

Several of the folks here have used various spray on, or brush on, truck bed liner products. I don't know if there was any consensus on a favorite brand.

George,I used grizzly grip on my BB3,and I love it! Good stuff, they make differant kinds, one is aggressive/ruff,and the other is like a orange peel finish, goes on well, but make sure you are in a ventilated area, and use a resperator. They have a wide variety of colors, hope this helps,Brian

I use Grizzly grip on all the boats I build. I've had them custom match the color of my boats since they didn't have any color even close. I can get the referance code for anyone who wants it. If the floor has cracks in it I would sand it first then put one layer of fiberglass mat down keeping it on the resin rich side. Once it is cured scuff it vacume up the dust then apply two coats of grizzy grip. If you have any questions let me know.

Tom.

Thanks guys, I though I'd get responses to use Gel coat, but the Grizz stuff sounds promising, I'll check it out

Make sure it isn't waterlogged under the floor.
Those little cracks can be a sign of that and not always on the well used ones.

Hi George: The floor in my Duck Wrangler 15 has the rougher Grizzly Grip on it. So far it appears to be "good stuff". Hope this helps.

George, If you don't want to glass the floor before you put on the grizzy grip you could apply a two part epoxy moisture barrier. I use Interprotect 2000-2001 made by InterLux. A quart should do the job. Tom.
