Redhead Sleeper (updated)

Thanks to all of you for the help with this one. Here is where I'm at with it now. I textured it and redid the primaries, secondaries, and tertials (Thanks for the photo reference Steve and Keith). I'm still up in the air as to whether I am going to keep the eye or mold it with a socket. It was correctly pointed out to me that the angle of the eyelid is off . If I decide to keep the eye I will be changing it before I build the mold. There is still alot of finishing work to do but I think its much better than it was. Let me know what you think.

Tom, I think it looks awesome! I would mold the eyes in. Saves a step and will work just as good for a gunning decoy. Would still love to meet up sometime. Want to talk more about molding stuff. Getting into molding fishing lures. Keep up the good work. Mark

Alterations look good. Eyes look great the way they are. I vote keep em like that.

Thanks R.C.

Mark I'm still working the 4/2 wheel on nights. Let me know. Lots of cool stuff you can do with fishing lures. There is a ton of different materials to get different buoyancy's etc. I've done stuff for Muskie's and Norhtern's but the possibilities are endless..

Tom~

Once again, I think the bird looks great. All the wing feathers drape nicely - and it certainly has the relaxed look of a sleeper.

I remain in the "paint the eyes" camp. You can add a white dot at around 11 o'clock to make it look shiny OR I once told by a carver many years ago that taxidermists have a special "wet look" varnish (?) they use for eyes.

All the best,

SJS
