Retriever Project - water tested

Finished adding the vintage labels, they are not perfect but look ok.
I used OD Green

I used OD Green and just Stenciled them on.

Then we tried it out on the water, to see if leaks, see how it handled, and I also swamped it.
No leaks, handles like a really stable Kayak and when I swamped it, I could not get it to sink any below the surface.

Ok, as much I had fun doing this project, I am probably going to sell this boat.
It looks pretty cool, and I really enjoyed how it handled, but I already and a Ducker and the Jon.
I may list this today in the classified section.

Surprised how sturdy this little guy is.

That's a very interesting boat. Especially the transom.

On canoes, a "Y" stern was often used for a motor, but the under water shape remained similar to a double ended canoe and therefore paddled very well. I'll bet your boat rows nicely.

While it does have oars, and this goes for the normal Ducker as well, we never use it that way.
We actually use Kayak paddles and regular canoe paddles.
Easier to control and you can see where you going which is always a plus!!!
