Hi gang,
I am a former lurker (just a few posts to my credit in the old days) that has been away for a year or two due to life changes (mostly good). I am back for 2 reasons
1) I have a little time now, which is a new thing
2) I just bought a boat yesterday (Yipee)
I was looking for an aluminum skiff but grabbed this fiberglass jon boat when she became available. I am going to be duckifying her over the next couple of months and I will need some advice since I've never worked with fiberglass.
I will try to post pictures, but for now, my questions are:
It is an 80's era glass Sears Gamefisher with that lovely fiberglass rash treatment on all surfaces. will paint keeps that at bay?
There are also a few minor cracks, including on the transom, that I want to prevent from getting worse.
What materials should I use to solve these problems? Epoxy? Polyester? Paint? Astroturf?
Thanks in advance,
Jim
