Gents,

I have a rig to sell and am having a dickens of a time in trying to arrive at a good asking price. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The hull is a 2002 Ranger Cherokee 1756 which is .100 gauge all-weld, factory camo with built-in fuel tank, tach, bilge pump, live well, light switches/gauges, foot-control (55#) trolling motor, aux. OB (20HP) kicker plate, full flooring and 2 year old Hummingbird depthfinder/graph. The engine is a (tiller) 2000 Nissan 40HP (oil-injected) 2-stroke w/T&T, SS & aluminum prop(s) and have remote steering cables and throttle assembly in case someone ever wanted to mount a console on the hull. Trailer (2000 Lowe, as the former hull was a 16' Sea Nymph) is black paint w/13" wheels & frame mounted spare plus has been completely re-wired w/LED lighting all around.

I started out at $5700 and have gradually come down to $5100 w/o generating any real interest. Have comparison shopped the Grizzly models at our local BPS (1756 (no floor) w/25 Merc & trailer @~$9K) and my asking price doesn't appear to be out of line based upon their stickers. My rig is in excellent (95%) condition with no gashes or significant dents to the hull.

A little history on the hull....when Genmar bought Ranger (they own 6-8 boat companies including Lowe) out they had been building aluminum hulls for a few years and this model was a competitor to the Lowe Roughneck series although (as I had one of them ~10 yrs. ago) the Ranger is a superior hull. Lowe complained to Genmar HQ with the end result being Ranger was forced to quit making these hulls in 2002. I've checked the NADA site, etc. and cannot find a listing for this particular hull.

The hull layout is basically wide open with two small side seats at the stern and ~11' of open area before the fore deck where the dry storage, livewell & trolling motor is located. Using the Beavertail blind on it you could arrange the crew on square-bottom bucket seats to accomodate the number of gunners w/o climbing over bench seats, etc. as well as haul bulky decoy bags with ease.

A little help...thanx

How motivated are you to sell it? What would be the absolute lowest price you would accept? Do you owe money on it? I guess the answer to these questions would answer your question. Obviously, your locale or market area won't support 5,100 so you will either have to lower the price still or hang on to it. Value and sale price are often miles apart.

First, No name and location is not how we do things here. Second, welcome to the board. Third, the rig sounds like a good one and I think if you have kept it up it should bring a fair price. Good quality pictures would help to access weather it is in good shape or beat up. A wider selling audience can be reached at sites like Ebay or Craigs list on the web. National rather than local market.
Aside.....the boat market is very slow right now. The big dealers are not moving new boats and used is not any better. People are cautious for whatever reason so try to reach as many possible buyers as you can.

Sorry for omitting some things...location is NE Oklahoma (Tulsa metro) and I will try to get pics as soon as I can corral my young friend who's far more tech advanced than me.

Ebay ("Efence" as my LE bro-in-law calls it) isn't an option although I've looked on regional boat sales site and have yet to find one similar to this rig which makes comparative pricing even more difficult.

I think the current slow market comment may well be the most accurate observation and as this isn't a firesale situation if it takes until just before the season(s) come up to sell that's fine as well.

Many thanx for your input.

Try this site , I just looked and I see a few boats for sale in your area. You could list it in surounding states too. My buddy from work buys stuff he finds on the Ct and Ri sites all the time. I do not think the listing fee is high and it would be smart for you to try to get a bass guy to buy it due to much higher numbers of them being around than duck hunters.
Still don't know your name so I will say good luck.
