Rivet?

What type of rivets do I need for my aluminum boat? I have done some research and came up with different answers. I drilled old rivets out with a 15/64 drill bit. I read that I need closed end blind rivets and apply 3m 5200 to each rivet is this correct? I have a cheap hand rivet gun from home depot will this work or do I need a better one?
Thanks for the help!

Usually boats are put together with solid rivets. Tools required for setting a solid rivet would be a bucking block and a setting tool. The setting tool can be hand driven with a hammer or an air driven tool.
Depending on just what the application is, you might be able to get by with pop rivets but solid rivets are usually a better choice.

I used to use aluminum airplane rivets that you can get from McMaster Car
part # 97484A245
Last time I replaced rivets, I used #10 stainless machine screws with a lock nut and a little 5200
I'll never use a rivet again
