Todd,
I sold an SKB Waterfowler when I came into the Ruger. Never sell a gun. The SKB had a habit of doubling and let me tell you the effect of two 3 inch mags going off at once is exciting.
I have seen a pile of rounds go thru the Beretta's and the guys on the skeet field love them, but the price has taken off.
Their stock dosnt fit me that well. So add custom fit to the bill.
Fact is for me I am shooting so little right now I stand little chance to wear out a gun till the kids get into target shooting in a few years.
My Ruger stock broke when the screen door slammed the gun bag out of my hand onto the stairs at 4 am and I kept right on going to the hot spot for the day. Got there and felt something funny when I pulled it out of the case after a long set up with decoys and gear.
Not Rugers fault at all. Barrel had a nice dent in the choke tube and the stock was busted. I am confident my 870 would have been smacked in the same fall.
I like doubles a lot because of the history,,,,,
but when push comes to shove give me my 870 and whatever mother nature can throw at her.
But if I owned a 20 ga Ruger I would for sure try like heck to get it back up and running. That guns lines are very nice. Makes me think of grouse and woodcock.
Sat. is my first hunt. Been V. Busy with Work\3kids\New Puppy.
