Sneak Boat Progress......ready to glass!

Looks like it is coming along nicely Dave. I will hopefully take on a project like this someday. I like the Kara design.

Mike,
All I can say is........man this is easy. It seems like a lot, but it goes together really fast. I modified mine to have a square stern and compartments so I made it more complicated than I had to, BUT.....it was still easy and fun. I've never built a boat before and now I am looking for my next set of plans. I'm really looking forward to glassing and painting so I can start putting lights, bungee cords, handles, decoy boards, gun racks, etc on the top decks and in the cockpit and getting it grassed up. When you first get started and you put the 1/4 inch plywood on there you wonder if this boat is going to be very rugged. IT IS A TANK! It's very solid right now and I haven't even glassed it yet. Will post more pics soon. dc

Thanks Anthony, couldn't have gotten this far without your help. It's crunch time now. Got to get it glassed and painted before the weather turns cold and the ducks start flying. Hope to float it in the next few weeks. dc

Dave,

Just checking to see how the glassing is going or went. I will be ordering the epoxy, fiber cloth, etc... this afternoon. I should have her completely framed out by today but I am going to wait until the epxoy gets here, so I can epoxy the frame before sheathing. Had to wait until I had the $ to get my fiberglass needs. I already have almost $200 just in the frame. I hate living in a high cost of living area. Everything here costs way more than it should. Tom

Tom. I have glassed the bottom seams and put a coat of resin on. I will be putting the cloth and resin over the bottom tomorrow (Sunday). Make sure you have everything laid out before you start and it helps to have someone there to help. Good luck. dc
