Snow goose hunting

Well finally got a call from my guide. Headed out to Western New York State to snow goose hunt on March 15-17. I have been going for a while now with my youngest son. Its not even the number of geese we get. That doesn't matter to me one bit. But I love seeing flock after flock of them. There is nothing like seeing them a mile high falling from the sky. Then go into their white tornado. Its a site that everyone should see.
Some days we are laying down in fields on lay out blinds. When all of a sudden you look into the sky and there are ten of thousands of birds migrating. Its a site to see!. I remember a few years ago hunting up near the Saint Lawrence River. Where we were hunting in a field, from first day break to sunset. The flocks never stop flying. True story. All my years of hunting I never witnessed anything like that. It was like I had died and went to heaven. A sportsmen dream of the sky being black with birds. In this case white.

Sounds great Anthony, hope you get into them. I came to like snow goose hunting more than Canada goose hunting, even though I haven't been in a few years now. Salt marsh hunting in my area is quite bit different than anywhere else, but I did get a tornado once in the middle of a mud flat. Mostly it is calling to small flocks that trade between the big flocks that roost along Delaware Bay. There should be plenty f geese, I don't think anything got hunted hard this year in the east.

I spent two days in Maryland and Delaware last weekend hunting snows and we did pretty well. 170 birds over two days with a couple nice blues and one band.

Thanks for the post buddy, Snow geese are some cool looking birds. Picking out one to shoot is harder then most people think. When you see a thousand birds coming into the decoys. You think how could it be hard to pick one out. But I'm here to tell you. Pulling up on one and keeping your eye on that bird is tough.
That's why lots of geese are never found because people flock shoot. The birds fly away and drop out of sight dead. Hope your wright and the birds not getting hunted hard. I'll keep you posted when I get back.
