Some pics from this season

Finally getting a minute to go through some pics from this season. I didn't get out a whole lot but still had a pretty good season. I got to hunt a bunch with my brother this season and we both managed a few new species.

I got my first gadwall

And my first spoony

These birds are really gorgeous. They would make an awesome dead mount. Hanging from one leg with the wings dropping open.

Got a few geese.

Plenty of butterballs around this year. Went after them a couple times.

This is one of the nicer sun rises from this year.

It was definitely one of the coldest season in the last few years. Made for some great gunning but I'm not used to breaking ice off the decoys so often.

Here are a couple shots of my brothers lab getting a hen buffy.

This is the very last bird of the season. My first banded duck. The band is too worn for me to read so I sent it in to the banding laboratory for them to etch. Hopefully they can read it.

Thanks for looking.

Great pictures! That spoony is real nice, saw some big flocks of them at times this season but never had any decoy.

Wish we had shovelors up here. I see one or two most years but always in an area that is not huntable. About five years ago I spoted a flock of about 10 out in the middle of the ocean with no marsh in sight. That is a nice drake shovelor and thanks for sharing the memories. Hope they send the band back.

Luke-

Thanks for sharing those photos. Although you may not have gotten out as much as normal, it looks like you still had a good season. Those are a couple of nice birds you have there.
