Speaking of Devlin Boat...

For those of you that are interested and want to know when, Devlin Boat will be featured on John Ratzenberger's Made In America tv show on June 5, or so I have been told.

I believe John Ratzenberger is ,or was, a sailor.I remember reading that he had a ferro cement Cape Cod Catboat in the Seatle area
around 18".Don't know who built it,but John was originally from New England.

Actually Sam Devlin built it. He covers the redesign of that boat in his book. Perhaps Joel was there at the time too.

Takes a fine craftsman to build a small boat out of ferro cement,be seaworthy,and not too heavy.Kudos to Joel.

I just picked up on the ferro cement part. I think the catboat Devlin built him was epoxy/plywood stictch and glue. I guess Cliffy likes catboats.

Me too.I owned a 17' Herman Cat and sailed on lake Hartwell 79-83.Still don't know why I sold her.

It was a stitch and glue catboat we built for John. I showed up at Devlin just after it was launched (sometime in the early 90's). John sold it and we did a conversion on it to a motor sailor a number of years back http://www.devlinboat.com/constructioncatrehab.htm .
