Hi Guys. May 16th s the date of this year's Sporting Clays fundraiser shooting event for the school my sister and her friend started for kids with learning disabilities. Wye River Upper School in Wye River Md has this event once a year and they hold it at Pintail Point in Queenstown Md.

I have posted about this event in year's past, and am hoping that it is still OK with Eric to do so again this year. If not Eric, feel free to delete.....

This year's tournement will be especially important as they are due to lose the space they have occupied at Cheasapeake College for many years due to increased enrollment at Cheasapeake College. The school has a very low student teacher ratio and is the last hope for many of the kids that attend it. Much of the money they raise through traditional fundraising and events like this go directly to scholarships to students. Most of these students are NOT wealthy nor do they come from wealthy back grounds. It is a real testiment to the school's mission and their administrators that they have been able to accomodate most kids that apply.

As I have in year's gone by, I've carved and donated 2 decoys to be awarded to the top gunner in the adult and youth division. The adult decoy is a repoduction of the old squaw decoy that is pictured on the 2009 Fed Duck stamp. It is cedar and is self righting. It comes with a committment from me to repair and repaint it as it gets (hopefully) used. The decoy to be awarded to the youth division top gunner, is a Goldeneye of the flattie style that I make. This one is 2" thick cedar.

There are also a bunch of other prizes that have been donated, although I can't for the life of me remember what they are. I beleive lunch is included with your admission price.

Pintail Point is a class act and one of the premier places to shoot in Md.

I will not be able to attend, but I'm hoping some you will be able to.

Thanks,
John Bourbon Jr.
