Sporting Clays...

I have great friends and great hunting partners. Two years ago, they introduced me to sporting clays. Wow! What a hoot! At that time, I was struggling through some shooting problems and, these guys have helped me immensely!! Kirk Ijams, Jim Crowley and Dave Ludington are amongst the best! They are like brothers to me. They are a huge encouragement to me. We hunt, we shoot and we laugh. We have great fellowship, enjoy shooting sports and the outdoors. You've heard of iron sharpens iron, well these guys definitely sharpen me.

Shown here are Jim, Kirk, Dave and Dave's son Hunter. This time of year, generally, our Saturday mornings include a round of Sporting Clays then, lunch at the Mackinaw Diner. What a treat!

Thanks guys for sharpening my iron... Pat

By the way, our Illinois Prairie Chapter of Delta Waterfowl is doing a sporting clays shoot on June 8th at Oakridge Sportsmen's Club, here in Central Illinois. We dress the field up specific to waterfowl hunting. Shooters shoot out of a boat over duck decoys, out of a ground blind over Canada Goose decoys, and, shoot out of a pit. They also shoot over snow goose decoys and specklebellies... It's a great day and great way to raise money for Delta Waterfowl. Cost is $60.00 per shooter and we shoot in teams of 5. On this site, you can PM Tim Speight, Jim Williams or me for details if you're interested.

Just returned from M&M new jersey. Seafood Blast sporting clays. Went to the World Decoy show in Maryland years ago and was introduced to sporting clays. Wow, jumped in Big Time.
Anyone that has not tried it, you gotta try it... Will make duck hunting more enjoyable, not chasing cripples...

You might not have to chase cripples, but that's only because you and Dad make me chase them.... ha ha.

As my uncle said above, Sporting Clays is a lot of fun. It will definately improve your shooting while hunting.

Fun, fun, fun. Sporting Clays is the most fun thing you can do with a shotgun when you're not hunting. I've shot SC league off and on for years and find it is the key to increasing my bag in the field. I'd think about coming down for your shoot on June 8th but that is the same day as our state Lions Club 'Pride' shoot. We have raised over $100,000 the past 6 years. It's alot of fun and all Lewis classes so I shoot my 28 ga. http://lionspridecampaign.shutterfly.com/

I absolutely agree with that! it's also great to chill out with friends who may enjoy shooting, but not hunting, or other types of hunters who may never really get to shoot a shotgun at a moving torget (deer hunters). AA-
