Spring snow

While I was frustrated that Old Man Winter refuses to loosen his grip on us here in NE Ohio, it made for a nice stroll through the woods. Walked up on a couple of doe's and this one wanted to take a stand. Sorry for the grainy cell pic.

Ryan, please don't apologize for that nice shot. I really like it. Just look at that snow on the branches! The doe seems to look pretty healthy especially for the amount of snow you guys have had. I can remember when living in northern Wisconsin and having five inches of snow in my boat----that was in May! Now I know why I moved down here.
Thanks for that post.

Ryan, no kidding this is getting stupid now w/snow and cold. I've been seen 7 does in my hay field near the house everynight. You could set your watch to see them @ 7:30pm. Been seeing any birds up on the waters your way? I might take aride to the Mosquito Saturday with binos.

John, I'm with ya on that! I figured there was some up that way. When I get hoodies and ringers on my farm pond I figure there up on the bigger waters.

Thanks Al. I'm almost embarrassed to post pics these days, what with all the talented photogs we have around here.

Gene, We're trying to sell a house so I haven't been out around any water since the thaw. I did take a ride up to the Eastlake warm water discharge a few weeks ago and it was loaded to the hilt. Other than that I haven't been out. Was thinking of trying for my first turkey this spring but that may have to wait too.

Ryan, If your able and if the logging and mining hasn't messed up the turkeys roosting feeding patterns down this way. I can let let ya know when there hot and come down this way and hunt my place w/me. For me the best time has always been later in season, so that might give ya more time to get family business done? I'll keep ya posted, Sound good? Speaking of sounding good. I have a new call from Steve Stefy and it sounds sweeeeet! looking forward to sweet talking a gobbler in w/it.

neat pic ryan, I have a couple similar to that from last week when we were dumped with 17.5" laid several trees/bushes right down to the ground. Your's is better though, has a doe in it.

good luck selling the house.

Very generous offer Gene. If things line up, I'd be happy to come out your way. Just let me know.

Eric - Hope all is well. I got lucky with this pic. I spotted two does and was able to keep a very large red oak in front of their line of sight. So I got about 15yds away and then moved out from behind the tree to get the pic. One of the does sprinted but this one took a stand and pawed at the ground a bit before snorting and trotting off. As much as I'm ready for warmer weather I really enjoyed the time yesterday. It was very quite in the woods.
