Any experience anyone out there? got a few rivits that are still seeping a lil and
they are talking to me about coating the bottom of the 18' V with this stuff.
I know they use it on Airboats and such. I know what Gulvit is and cant say I
have has the best experience with it.

Filled the boat with water yesterday before paint and had a couple issues. some will
be tig Welded up others cant get to. Guess I should of water tested before the floor
was in... live n learn.

I use Frog Spit on the bottom of all my aluminum boats to include my f/g layouts.

Same stuff, just seems to "flex" a little more than the Steel Flex.

I've got the same issue with the bass tracker and was wondering the same thing. I noticed when I drained the boat after being out a few hours today I may have filled a quart jar. There's probably NOT a metal boat in Florida with some electrolosis issues. Think I'll check into the Frog Spit stuff. I thiink I'll replace the bilge pump that doesn't work while I'm at it.

Take care,

Ed L.

I just coated my Lund with Gluvit. I didn't have any problems and it came out very nice. I had to sand it in a few places where it ran (drip lines).

What problems have you had with it in the past?

thanks,

JC

I have it on the bottom of my layout boats. I'm sure it would seal up a few leaky rivets but that's not really what it's for. The stuff is slippery, goes on with a roller and is pretty thick.

found another board where alot of folks using it and also mentioned the Frog Spit too. Tinboats.net all rebuilding boats
tons of photos love to look at boat building stuff. Everyone has a lil different way of fixing stuff very unique.

Appreicate it im headed to Phowler boats to check it out and get a game plan of what were going to
do from here forward and just GET IT DONE!

I know that the stuff (steelflex) is very flexible and has great adhesion (w/proper surface prep), because the layout boats I have the stuff on are very lightweight and flexible (thin walled carbon fiber).

Thanks Hitch they are going to ACID wash the bottom then DA sand with 60 grit and will be applied
in a paint booth at the shop. So should be good to go. They are going to TIG a few of the spots
that can be below waterline to make sure all is good to go.

Just a waiting game now.....

Works great it does have a tendency to sag though. I coated a 14' boat I redid last year and it held up to some pretty hard abuse.
