Stitch and glue question

Simply put, what is it? I have searched the forum and found a lot of reference to the technique but no explaination as to what it is. My interest is peaking about building my own duck boat but I don't have a clue as to what kind or style and this frame vs stitch and glue has me confused.

Bascially:
1. you cut out the hull pieces from marine plywood.
2. You drill holes along the edges that join together.
3. Insert plactic wire ties or wire into the holes, tighten the heck out of them and "stitch" the seams together.
4. Once you have the hull "stitcjed & squared up, you glue the all seams with epoxy fillets.
5. Then you heat the wires & pull them out (or cut off the exposed plastic parts of the wire ties.
6. Flip the hull and glass the outside.

You hull is stitched & then glued!

Thanks guys! I did the search but never checked the obvious place. Make sense now.........

....now to go do some reading!
