The Great One...

In my humble opinion, the greatest decoy artist of all time is the Great Lou Schifferl. Lou did more for the promotion of decoy and decoy collecting than any artist I know. Lou is not only an amazing artist but, a true gentleman. Lou started with Hal Sorenson's Decoy Collector's Guide back in the early 1960's. If you are fortunate enough to know Lou, he is a real gem.

Tim and I were able to acquire some of Lou's sketches in hopes of using one or more on The Decoy Shed. We are extremely grateful to Lou for the blessings he bestowed on us! Thank you Lou!!! Enjoy...

Pat, thanks for posting those. I love sketches like that. Simple enough to capture the moment but your mind fills in all the detail needed. Each one could tell a story.

Pat, thanks for sharing, enjoyed those a lot!

Best - Paul

PS for those of you that haven't ventured over to the Decoy Shed, you should make some time. Not only are Pat's tutorials on decoys fantastic but Tim's video of vintage big bore shotguns is awesome too.

Hi Pat - I was not familiar with this artist - what great work and the 4 of them really convey the experience in a straight forward, direct way. The last one is easily worth 10,000 words. Thanks !
