The Mac’s keep biting

Looks like y'all had fun.

Funny I grew up in the southwest Louisiana marsh's and loved chasing specks and reds. Went to work out in the Gulf slinging big iron. And lots my taste for salt water fishing.

Still love to eat me some reds on the half shell cooked over mesquite 😁 😁 😁

I sure miss the specs & reds fishing over around Mobile Bay. We just dont have them here in Tampa Bay like over there. Completely different system.

Should have snook though? At least they were there when my sister lived in Tampa ~20 years ago. Did I mention how much I love snook fishing, not that I have done much of it . . . . I also remember chasing a reds a bit to the south, down around Sanibel. Maybe a 2 hour drive?

Yep, lots of snook in the Tampa Bay. I just haven't bothered chasing them.
I tend to fish for fun and food. Given the snook slot size and season, its tough I just haven't had the motivation to put in the effort to learn how to catch them. Plus its just one more stamp I have to buy.
I got spoiled chasing redfish in Mobile, they are just simply more abundant from Mobile Bay and west than they are in peninsula FL.
