The New Boat Surprise! Dave Clark Estuary 15' -Easton, MD

This past weekend my father attended the 50th Easton Waterfowl show in Easton, Maryland. After recently selling his Duckboss 13' he was in the market for an all-around style rig that could be used both on the Chesapeake Bay & Great South Bay up here in New York from hunting, clamming fishing & crusin'. Researching for many weeks ultimately led him to Dave Clark's workshop where he saw the Estuary Garvey's and other smaller sneak boat models. Visiting the show this past Sunday, I had contacted Dave about a used previously owned 15' Estuary Garvey mahogany marine ply model he had on display complete with a 50hp Yamaha & Trailer. After some discussion about the custom features of the boat and examination by my father on site, I was able to surprise him and Dave informed the boat he was admiring at the show all day was his!

Couldn't of asked for a better fit as the Estuary 15' showed all the safety features, concealment, stability, and quality craftsmanship he was in the market for. After speaking with Dave after purchase we also lined up some custom item's he makes in the shop such as Decoy Bags & outboard motor covers. Congratulation's on the new boat. There is one thing that is going to be hard, grass it in like your TDB. You will need a hay bind out on the marsh to cut all the grass. Can't wait to see it grassed up.

I absolutely love this hull!
It would have been the almost perfect boat for where i hunted back in Coastal Alabama.

I think Dave knocked it out of the park with that design and all the custom work. Congrats on the family acquisition.

Congratulations to you and your Dad! I've always admired this vessel. I've often thought that I'd build something similar if I still lived on Long Island. Garveys will always have a special place in our Great South Bay hearts.


(Instead, I just have a bunch of Dave's decoy bags.....)

That boat inspired me to have Dave make the deck mold for his fiberglass garvey. Just a beautiful hull enhanced by Dave's attention to detail.

Hope you and your father enjoy it for many years.

Recent product introduction of synthetic grass from Blindgrass.com might speed up your process on that garvey. Synthetic, foldable , and should hold up great to highway speeds. Couple different colors. Might want to take a look at it and maybe just tweak with a bit of salt hay as final application.
 
If I remember correctly that 15 footer was from Devlin's Cackler plans. David made the boat wider and longer to meet Coast Guard Approval for a 50hp. After making that boat he made a boat to make the molds for his Garvey15.

This one is the 12' Carl Adams, Same bottom design and it is the sane as the new EstuaryII
He took a 1950's Barnegat Bay Sneak Box design and made 3 different sets of molds.
