The Rest of the story

I might be hijacking this thread a bit, but while hunting on Virginia's Eastern Shore on Sunday, we came across this 'ole Toy Duck. Some type of foam body with a carved, looks like pine head. Cool none the less. He was with two basic, plastic hen Bluebills, but there's not a whole lot cool about them.

My Hunting Buddy from out here claimed it. (I guess he needs a lesson in etiquette, since it was "MY BOAT" we were in. I would've thought he would have at least offered it to me...) LOL!

Don't know who made it, but he was going to try to find out.

Hey Jode, great story next time you decide that you want to loose one of your beauties let me know or even better yet loose it near one of the meadows that I hunt. that would make my season a nice find like that!!! we found a Kayak this season I had zero interest but one of your gems look out!!!....LOL

My Hunting buddy from these parts must've felt guilty. He texted me today to stop by, and when I did, he handed it over to me. I graciously tried to refuse, but he insisted. I'm pretty sure he didn't see thread this as I asked if he was on here and he said no. He said we've been hunting together when I come to the Eastern Shore for a long time. This piece is pure island from the hand carved head, to the sand molded weight on the bottom of the decoy, to the sand molded lead anchor, and he thought I should have it.

Cool find, but most of all-even though we didn't shoot a whole lot this day, I have a wonderful memory to go along with it. Good friends and good times.

Sorry if I hijacked this thread Jode, your story would be hard to beat.
