The Rutgers Institute Decoy Float w/pics 2011

A perfect summer day was host to the 4th annual Rutgers Institute Decoy Float. It was awesome to see 47 hand-carved decoys hit the water and decoy ducks. Yes, we actually had 4 ducks swimming through the decoys. The talk of the night were the Jode Hillman class pins and teals that looked great swimming together for the first time. It's a good thing we all used some cobalt dryer:)

Of course, Chuck's canvas swan had to dominate the rig, LOL!

In all, there were 10 of use that made the day special: Paul R. & Sarah, Rich H. & his daughter, Brian & Garett, Chuck J., Rick T., Cole V., Jeff B., and my family. Maybe next year we can add a few more:)

Here you can see that some Rutger/Holher mallards have fooled the locals, hehehe. Or, maybe it was the "naked" canvas mallard;)

A big thank you to everyone that helped out with the excellent food and setting up! I wish I took more pictures but I was having too much fun...

Thanks to Dave and his wife for hosting this event. It's good to get together with our little group and see what everyone has been up to and float the dekes we have been working on and see the different things guys incorporate into their decoys. Good food, a few beverages and a boatload of BS among carvers is always a good way to spend a summer evening. Thanks Dave and Robin!!

David, that is one really cool shot of all the decoys in the water. That had to be fun to have such a perfect day.
