Topo program recommendations for Garman GPSmap62s

Hoping someone can recommend a SD card type add on program for my new Garmin GPSmap 62S. Was a bit disappointing that the base map it came with didn't even state roads on it. I would have expected something more on a $500 unit.
Will be using it for both land and water hunting situations so looking for something with aerial, topo or preferably both. Hoping I can get something that doesn't take a lot of maintenance and work on my PC as it's old and can't be trusted:)

Thanks,
Chip

Chip, I don't use Garmin, but a buddy who does loves Maptech. I've seen the maps on his computer, printed, and on the Garmin unit, and they are much better than what I have for my Delorme GPS. I think he told me the cost was around $100 to get a complete set of topo maps for Maine. Marine charts available, too.

You may want to down load the Garmin Base Camp software on your PC and buy an annual subscription to Birdseye. I got the Birdseye Topos and Birdseye aerial imagery for about $35 a year if I remember right. You down load the area of your choice onto your Garmin and can then toggle back and forth between topo and photo image using the map section feature. Very nice just used the software to help us find a new deer hunting spot. You can also plug your GPS into a lap top and use the larger screen in your truck or hunt camp. I also added Hunt map which is expensive but is a comprehensive plat map which identifies public lands and owner names for private property,
