So i haven't posted on here in a while because, honestly, i haven't duck hunted for a few years. Three years ago, my boat motor blew up, and two years ago, my father-in-law Vernon and my dog Bryant passed...and i just wasn't feeling it. Couple that with an eight-year-old who plays every sport under the sun, and 3 duck seasons passed before I knew it. But Frankie will start hunting in 2020, so it was time to start getting things in order again.
First things first.....I repowered the old john with a new Merc 60, rewired the electric, pulled out 200 lbs of soaked flotation foam, rebuilt the seats, and added a bit of water-tight storage. I'm pouring new foam this weekend, and will post some pics once she's done. (I know, she's not a real boat, but it gets me from A to B)
Second....it was time to let another wet nose into our lives. Meet Trigger:

He's a smart pup and I'm looking forward to training him......he's picking up the basic obedience stuff quick, so maybe I won't ruin this one! Time to get back to some real hunting!
