Trolling motor suggestions?

Looking to put a trolling motor on my 14' Sportspal. Not looking to break any speed records but want something that will push it along pretty good. Thinking about a 54# thrust but would like to save a few bucks and go smaller if not needed. Anyone running a similar setup?

I have a 55# MinnKota on my Fatboy DP. I would'nt want anything smaller, especially when the water is up... I picked mine up on Craigslist barely used for $125.

I will second the 55lb trolling motor recommendation. I had a 44lb on my 14' Scott Canoe and it just did not cut it especially in high winds. I sold it and bought a 55lb which also pushes my 15' fiberglass Wrangler DH 15 with no problem when gas motor can't be used.

Also recommend the 55lb motor...have on I shortened on my Four Rivers and wouldn't consider anything less when a gas motor is not needed.
