Tuffy teal - Fiberdome Bluebill

Figured someone here would have the answer is the old Tuffy Teal the same as the Fiberdome Bluebill? I know Fiberdome ownms what is now Tuffy boats.

I spoke with the Tuffy rep about three weeks ago at the Milwaukee Muskie Expo. A number of my friends have owned their boats and I have owned three of their skiffs over the past 30 years I was interested primarily in their history. Fiberdome started by making Ag fiberglass products, silo caps and fan shrouds like the ones used on confinement hog operations. Years back when Ag fell onto hard times they decided to make some skiffs and later some tri-hull style boats. The original boat hull designs were dated but the boats were stable and they gained a regional following. They eventually upgraded the boat designs and did pretty well with them. However the boat operation always took back seat to the Ag operations and the sales rep complained that if they got busy they would miss all their boat delivery deadlines.

They recently decided to get out of the boat business and sold the boat operation to an investor in northern Wisconsin who will be working to make Tuffy a more efficient full time boat manufacturer
 
They made quite a few fishing boats over the years, always had a good following in Upper Midwest and made a very functional designed fishing boats, back in the day when I fished Mille Lacs a lot I took a long hard look at them when looking for a larger tiller boat, but as you mentioned lead time to get one was a issue I remember back then. I ran across one of these teals, and you know how it goes if you sell one you have to buy one not to have a decrease in the fleet size LOL we will see what condition it is actually in when I see it in person.
 
Roger that - I have an old 12 footer I picked up a couple years back from an old trapper in Marathon county WI. With advancing age I never really used it much. It currently under 4 feet of snow - I'll probably try to peddle it once the weather breaks.
