I ABSOLUTELY agree about RELIABILITY! A set of oars as a backup is nice, but when its 20 degrees, snowing, blowing 35mph out of the north and you are south of the launch ramp.... it's a great sound when that outboard starts on the first pull!

Yep, I have an oar attachment for my push pole.....but don't think it would do much on my 1000 lbs 16-foot boat.
And, when SeaTow and TowboatU.S. stop running in the middle of the winter, and you're in an area where even the Coast Gaurd can't get a boat into.......yikes. I'm going to continue to work on not having that happen to me.
