I've been trying to do these a little more frequently
The reason I was inspired to post, was that we had a bit of an unexpected event during our Louisiana opener. It was slow (by Louisiana standards) with mostly bluewing teal in the bag. However, at the end of the hunt, I was fortunate enough to take a pair for my pup to retrieve

the fishing with this warmer weather had been as good as I can remember

big developments for me include being able to regularly take my kids on the water

plenty of interesting stuff for them down here, even when the hunting is slow

I'm always amazed by how handy most of the patrons of this site are, and their appreciation for vintage things. I've wanted one of these for a long time, 87 4runner. I pulled and sold the hard top, installed a soft top, did some coil wire, and the ball joints, and have just generally been enjoying a stick shift 4x4 convertible.

I had grown pretty tired of mud engines, and picked up a little skiff to work on with my son

Wow, OS in LA this time of year. Many of the OS we get in Wisconsin actually stay here for the winter on Lake Michigan.

Love seeing the fish pics. Sea trout correct? One of my favorite eating fish.

I your dog a Boykin?

look like speckles to me! The one good thing about squaws, they taste about the same as fish, with some textural and color differences.

Well, that's one more squaw than I've seen in almost 20 years of hunting the AL coast!

Awesome pictures, especially getting your little man out there! That's the one benefit of Southern waterfowling, the temps are awesome for duck hunting with kids.

That's crazy harvesting Old Squaw in La. That's a first for me. I'll be down that way in less than 2 weeks, can't wait!
