Update for my DHBP famly

Well I was warned that there would be changes, just didn't expect them this quick. In a nutshell my first chemo drug (Revlamide) was being too hard on my white blood cells. So after a trip to Mayo and some more lab work I will be going to the big kids chemo room.I will get a port and twice a week for a long time I will be getting IV chemo. I will be getting the port on my left side and we scheduled around my trapshooting. Just an update for you all. The shock has worn off and I am back to half full glass. Keep me in your thoughts.

Tom, You have the best attitude. You are one tuff guy.
My wife and I will keep you in our prayers.

Sorry to hear of this change of events. As you know your in my thoughts and prayers. Consider this, as the glass may look empty it's full to the brim with oxygen and oxygen is life. Drink it all in and continue to write new chapters as your story continues.

Scheduling the chemo around your trapshooting schedule is awesome! Keep pecking on the rock--nothing else you can do. FWIW, I had a meeting earlier today with two colleagues, both of whom were told their cancer was almost certain to take them quickly. One prostate; the other liver. Each was told at one point, "It's time for you to get your affairs in order." 5 years later, they're both still doing well, fishing more than I do, and putting in 30+ hours a week on volunteer projects teaching kids and vets to fish. Both in full remission.

Prayers sent your way.

Tom, many positive thoughts sent your way. Gotta be a good thing that you're able to schedule around your trap shooting. You'll beat this.

Better check and see if chemo is considered a performance enhancing drug Tom. Hate to see you eliminated for dopng.....

Thoughts and prayers Tom. Keep up the positive attitude and we will see you hunting later in the season. September 22 or something like that.

I think you need to shoot well to be checked for doping. Thanks for all the good thoughts/ juju. Now you got me thinking about maybe something that might be performance enhancing[;)]

Shoot well Tom! Maybe the performance enhancers will bring the shooting to another level.

Will be praying for you and your family.

Tom, keep a strong positive attitude and you will beat this. I have survived to bouts of colon cancer. You will be in my thoughts & prayers.

I know its difficult, but keep the positive attitude. Thats a big important part of the battle when living with cancer. My experienced support staff have all agreed the initial shock, and initial treatments are the hardest part. Its,a huge change for your body as well as psyche. I am fighting cancer right along side of you. The doctors have made changes to my original cocktail too, and I am quite a bit more comfortable now.

My thoughts and prayers will be sent your way for a speedy and comfortable recovery. Hang tough.

Jon
