My son is an avid fly tier. He also teaches tying at a fly tying-fishing club at his school. He is always looking for feathers. Mallard, wood duck, and teal, flank feathers, as well as CDC of all ducks and geese.

I would be happy to pay postage if anybody want to collect feathers from your birds.

Thanks Dave & Phil (son).

David,

PM your address. My father was an avid fly tyer...I may have a bit to send. My parents outfitted youth fly fishing groups and I know they would be tickled to know some more materials would go to a young Fly Tier!

David - PM me If your son can use Fox,Grey&Black squirrel tails for streamers and nymphs. I also have assorted feathers somewhere...

Well the only other thing on his wish list is Hungarian Partridge, but I thought that would be a long shot. I know he said he was almost out of otter so a was going to look for a bit of that as well.

Wow, what a fantastic response for Phil! For those of you who don't know Phil, he is a great kid. Very active with the local TU chapter, and happy to outshoot me every time I've had him out for ducks.

Speaking of which--David, I have the week after Christmas off. If you and Phil are game for our annual hunt, perhaps a day on the Sheepscot as we did last year? Weather and ice need to cooperate of course . . . . .

Here are a couple of fly tied with materials sent. The fly on the left is a CDC Emerger in size 18 and the one on the right is a March Brown in a size 10

He is hoping for some hen eider feathers. I would love to hear from any sea duck hunters.
Thanks everyone.

Nice!! I never tied anything smaller then 10.

Hoodie flanks go in the mail Monday!

If he got a Hun skin which color did he get? I might be able to come up with a Hun skin but would like to send him a differant color than he has received. Here we see red brown and darker brown. Those are my terms ... Might not be what fly fishing guys call them. Anyway, let me know what he might have and when it gets back into the 30's I'll go dig through the stuff I have and see if what I have is differant.

My late hunting/fishing partner used the two different colors for differant flies.

Nice flies.
I have some pheasant feathers ready to go I just keep forgetting to get them in the mail. I'll get them sent next week.

Tim
