Wanting to build a solid aluminum blind any suggestions?

I just traded up for a new duck boat platform. I bought a 16' super boat semi V project. I am replacing the floor and starting FRESH. I am thinking of building a boat blind out of Galvanized pipe and sheeting it with aluminum. Most of the local boats I see have plywood sides (as did my last one). I feel like the Aluminum sheets will be lighter weight and the ability to angle them may cut down on the CG being so high on the outside of the boat. Does anyone have pictures of plans or pictures of a Mod V, V front boat blind set up I can reference? I plan on grassing over the aluminum with marsh grass. I'm trying to upload some pictures, but the size is too large. I have to figure out how to shrink them.

I'd be careful mixing galvanized and aluminum, sometimes there is a reaction between the two. Aluminum tubing, though more expensive, is also lighter.

Aside from this, did you search through old posts using the search function at the top. There have been several built by guys here over the years, but I think Hitch's was one of the most thought out and best documented constructions, though the actual construction shots may have been on the old forum format and got lost.

For sure a reaction between the two. Also, shooting out of any kind of metal blind make sure to wear ear plugs...

Denis- for some ideas search through some posts here on the site. Someone, in the last year built a hard side aluminum blind for their 18-20' Lund Alaskan. That was a nice blind. Someone else has an old 18' Bailey bridge boat with an aluminum hard sided blind. Another really cool boat.

For some mod-v style blinds, take a look at Phowler boats website. They do several different blind designs for mod-v and flat bottom boats. Some are take down and some are hardsided blinds.

Hope those give you some ideas on how you want to do yours.

Here's the blind I built two years ago. It is a lot lighter than the old plywood blind I built for my Smokercraft. The angle aluminum I used for the frame was not that expensive compared to the total cost of the project.

I think Cheech used rectangular aluminum tubing for his frame. If you can weld aluminum, I'd say that's the route to take.
