My buddy snd I did some trading today and i ended up with 6 ll bean coastal black ducks, three of them seem to be waterlogged. I intend to rehab them after the season but just wondering what i can do to dry em out now.

Put them up on a shelf that is out of the weather but still gets some air movement. It will take awhile to dry them out. Seal them once they are dry and repaint with flat.

All good answers. I had one get waterlogged. I put it in my SUV for a few weeks . Since my vehicle sits in the sun all day it really drew the water out.

^^^ This will work or put them up in your attic...but this time of year it probably won't heat up too much up there.

Whenever I end up with a situation like yours, I put it up in the rafters above the furnace. (I have a gas-fired, forced air furnace though). They will dry out quickly, but not too fast as to cause damage. So far...

Then you'll want to seal and paint like they said.

All good answers.

Could you do the old cell phone trick and put the decoys n a container full of rice? Or buy some desiccant and throw the dekes into a container with it? I know it's a bunch of dekes, I'm curious if it would work?

up on ductwork near furnace, if you have forced air heat--It WILL take time to evaporate the water. Weigh before you start, and each month, to note the loss. When it stabilizes, you have removed the majority of the water.

George is correct on all points, it WILL take time. When waterlogged cork freezes (as in left in your duckboat) your decoys "Blowup", and then you have a real problem trying to patch them up..........
Yup, I learned that the hard way in 1984, and once they are patched they are like patched waders - never the same, but they work.
