Today came early at 4:00am. I made the two and one half hour drive to the snake river where it enters into Hells canyon. Ran my little jet boat up river about 50 miles or so. River and I hunted hard the whole day. At 57 the canyons are getting much steeper. River had no problem at seven yrs of age keeping up with me. Only killed one rattle snake today. I finally limited out around four pm and headed down river to call it a day. I hope I have many more years chasing these chukars. It is such a beautiful canyon. Some pics enclosed of my day.

River sure looks like she is content on that boat give her hugg for me and thanks for posting those great photo,s.
That setting of the cabin in the photo, is Beautiful.

Thanks for sharing, Jode

Gary,

Enjoyed the photos and story.

"At 57 the canyons are getting much steeper." Funny that way how the geography changes so quickly over a twenty or thirty year time span.

Thanks for sharing. My wife (wildlife biologist) was drooling over the bighorn sheep photos. Looks looks like a great adventure!

I always enjoy your pictures, what camera and lens are you using ? I am sure some one has asked before thanks for answering. I went elk hunting on Mormon flats in Hells canyon on the oregon side this year, and had a great time.

Hello Korey
Thanks for the nice comments. Did you really hunt Morman Flats this elk season. I was also in there on Sept. 15th thru 25th. Did you get a bull. We were actually camped on the road to Lord Flats. Just across the canyon from morman. Sure saw lots of bulls this year. My camera is a 7D canon and the lense I primarily use is a cannon 300LIS 2.8. Hope this helps. Enclosed is a pic of the only bull we got this year out of a group of four. But lots of fun chasing them around with Bows. I have been hunting there for 16 years.
