Went to the cabin today

Took the wife and grandson along to show them. The water was up another two inches and the road out of town to my property was closed off due to water over it. We came in the back way with no problems. I waded down to the cabin and got the Zackbox to haul the wife and kid to the cabin. To my surprise, when I opened the door...the floor was dry. The seams in the wolmanized plywood had just a touch of seeping but nothing inside was harmed..not even the boxes of nails. We put everything up on the bunks just in case. I have a new picnic table that lodged in the trees next to the cabin...I'll put it out on the big dock along with a 12' aluminium boat, tyke trike and Adirondac chair that I salvaged when we took the BB2 out looking for some stuff that floated off so the owners can get them when things settle down. I anchored an aluminium boat the other day that was upside down in the brush..it still had the anchors and dock post stored on the hull. I couldn't get a good hold on it so I tied one of the anchors to a transom handle and gave it a bit of slack and dropped it in. The owners won't have to go 20 mi down river to find it...and it won't be scrap wrapped around a tree. Saw a couple mallards and a bunch of geese. Blake always acts like he's shooting them.

Glad things are not worse for you. I'll give you a thank you for helping the neighbors. Has the water level peaked yet?

Glad to hear so far so good. I spent the day along with Dr. Mike and Sundance cleaning the shop. Built a couple extra push benches, and stacked the wood. Ready for a bunch of carvers this Thursday! Gonna hack out another mallard tomorrow I think.

Glad to here the interior was dry.Good construction.Wish we could pipe some of that water into the bik lake here.
