Just curious how everyone on the wet side of the hill's opener was? My crew went too willipa bay and had every thing that could go wrong go wrong. Got marooned by low tide, 30 yards from water.Fast grass blind was too light compared too surroundings had too get local shrubs too fix that.Ran the boat a-ground and destroyed my prop in the process. Second day had too hunt too many people out of the other boat couldnt use the blind. Eventryed too jump shoot after wading too shore and see what we could make happen nothing weather was terrible for hunting bright no clouds no wind just clear blue.I only shot 1 time too take care of a cripple.
All in all i wouldnt have wanted too be anywhere else My pup reetrieved her first two ducks 1 hen blue wing teal that decoyed up for us perfect and a coot a young buck with us shot by accident oh well coots go in the jerky meat pile in my book.I got too see a friends kid solo on his first duck and he had a ball paddling across the bay w the marsh rat and a half dozen dekes too see if he couldnt make sumthin happen.I had a blast shootin more ducks would have been great, butt oh well is that what its really about? I think not. between 6 people 4 adults and two juniors we shot 8 ducks over two days not great noit good numbers wise just tons of fun.

I was working on my son's truck and wasn't able to get out. I've hunted Willapa a few times, without much success and would like to get down there again. I hunt the east side of the Bay when I do. I normally hunt the Columbia River from Longview to Cathlamet.
