I have been asked to organize the swap this year at the Westlake Show for Sunday afternoon. So, I'm asking all of you guys that plan on attending the show to bring along one of your decoys and put it in the swap. This isn't a dog show, some very nice decoys will be on the table.
Sunday 2p Please arrive at the pool with a handcarved cork, wood, or canvas decoy. RP's will be allowed! If possible, sign it before hand.
Everyone will write their name (an X is OK for the southern boys) on a slip provided and placed into the hat. I will donate the pencil.
2.15p We will draw a name from the hat, that person (their decoy will be pulled) will have their choice of anything on the table, whoever's decoy is selected will choose next, and so on down the line, the last person will receive the first persons decoy.
Please stay around the area after the swap so we can take a group shot with everyones decoys.
.............................................
This has been a great way to meet other carvers and just be social. I challenge all the carvers to come out and participate. It's always been a lot of fun. There have been some mighty fine decoys up for grabs in past years, some of them straight from the pool with ribbons 'round their necks! My first swap, (first year carver) I promised a decoy never imagining I would take a Blue in species, I believe Mr. Ganser got stuck with that one.
Send me an email and I'll start on a list.
