What Apps improve an outdoorsman's life?

Theodolite - Its a camera based survey tool app that I use to document photo locations for some work functions. Also handy for taking photos of a dead critter so if I run into a Trooper or biologist they can easily obtain the GPS UTM data for the gut pile if they really want to know. If you are in the wilderness and it is working too hard to find the GPS signals it can kill the battery quickly.

Hyperlapse from Instagram - pretty cool video app allowing for time lapse image processing. You do not need an instragram account to use it. Fun video of breaking down a critter in quick time, or some other activity over a long period that can be reduced to a shorter time.

Manual camera - This may be iPhone 6 only - it allows for finger tip control of the camera to perform manual focus, f-stop, and ISO. I am still trying to figure it out since its so different from a SLR. However, even in auto mode it takes better exposed photos than the iPhone camera settings.

I have an apple phone an don't know if these apps exist in android.

Guys, Thank you for the great suggestions, there were ones I hadn't known about and specific adds when I only knew about the general concept but not which app was "best". At the moment I'm wicked frustrated, I've been trying for two days to find the actual down load for Navionics Boating. All the helpful links lead to Navionics web site and their links take me to the skiing map app when I get to down load site's like Play Store. If anyone knows of an actual Android down load spot where I can actually hit the "buy" button please let me know.

Thanks all!
Scott

I have an iPhone so I don't know if these are available to you. In addition to the other suggestions, look at:

If you navigate big salt
Marine traffic
Noaa boys
Navimatics (I have all of the N. Am charts downloaded)
aye tides

Weather:
My radar
Marine weather by accucast

I have an Oregon/Washington Tsunami app but doubt you'll need it

There are a bunch of apps useful for learning rules of the road, light rules, aids to navigation, and other boating education topics.

I must be too old school:

Application for Reserved Waterfowl Area permit
Application for Turkey Permit
Application for Elk Permit
Application for...

HA!

Actually Google Maps (I look at the satellite view more than the maps in remote areas) and I have a basic moon phase app.

Okay I can stop being frustrated! If others have been looking for the down load it's not there. Saw this on Navionic's face book page:

Navionics Thank you for your inquiry. The Android marine apps have been temporarily removed from the Google Play Store while we work on correcting some functionality issues we recently discovered. It is important that we provide our customer with the highest quality apps possible. Improved Android marine apps will be available soon. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Just a heads up, the highly recommended (see above) Navionic's Marine GPS app is back available. I down loaded it today and will be playing with it.

I have an iphone and the app that I find myself using all the time for work/play is called "Boat Weather". It gives all of the NOAA marine forecasts for specific areas you select and lists every state on there. It has been very helpful so that I dont have to listen to the wX radio or search their website. I believe I went into app store and searched "NOAA marine weather". There is also the option to download the wX radio app...The best tide/current app is called "Ayetides". It costs $7.99 through apple but it is probably the most used app by shipping pilots in most of the east coast ports I have been into...

Hope this helps

Dan

Thanks for the heads up. I had gotten the same email as you. Glad to know they seen issues and fixed them.
