What do you use to cover your floors in your boats and why?

I am in the process of replacing the floor in an old fiberglass boat that I am going to use for hunting and fishing. What does everyone suggest using to cover the floor with?

Joe, I have a sneakbox with floor slats but my buddy has a 16" aluminum v-hull. Being a fireman I was able to get a large piece of dry deck for his floor. It is the slatted, fiberglass decking used in the hose bed of the fire engines to allow for drainage. It is covered with a non slip texture and not very heavy. Maybe you know someone in the fire dept. that will hook you up..............Kevin

Joe,

Not sure how much space you need to cover, but similiar to Pete's sleeping pads, I use a closed cell foam 1/2" yoga mat in my broadbill. As much as I liked the hot pink ones, I found one in an olive green. Doesn't hold any water and is comfy. It's somewhere around 6 1/2' L x 2 1/2' W.

I also use closed cell mats in my broadbill and Kara. I got mine at a dog show. (kennel pads)
There are venders at most larger shows and they're available in lots of good sizes and colors.
