What size fuel line is on Yamaha 15?

Not sure on that one but if I remember from your other post about the fuel line in a sneakbox you are running this line through the box I would use the abrasion resistant fuel line from west marine it is what I used for the same thing it was $3 a foot

I got a fuel line with the new motor. it is significanly more flexible than the Mohler or whatever the gray kits are available at all the marine sections of Walmart/Cabelas/BassPro. The Yamaha fuel line is smaller diameter, black and really flexible. Interested to see how it does in the cold. I'll look to night to see if is says anything on the hose to indicate what type it is.

Get your fuel line from a Yamaha dealer not an aftermarket line. As Dave said the Yamaha factory fuel line is much more flexible and higher quality.

I have the stock fuel line from Yamaha. I want to run it up to the front, where I'll have the gas tank on my BBSB. The stock one is too short. I kind of wanted to keep the stock one as is, and build a whole new longer fuel line that I'll be running through the rear deck with brass fittings. I just wasn't sure what size I needed.

C Taylor is right the standard fuel line on a yami 15 is 3/8

I just matched it up with some scraps of automotive fuel line I have in the garage. It appears that the fuel line from the motor's outside diameter is the same as the automotive 1/4". The 3/8" automotive is quite larger than the marine fuel line on my Yamaha.
Is it safe to assume that my Yamaha's fuel line is 1/4" and NOT 3/8"? I couldn't see how a small motor would need anything more than 1/4".

Jamie-I know the outside doesn't matter. I was just trying to figure it out without hacking apart my factory fuel line. I guess I was wrong with both sizes. Thanks for the info-Scott

Smaller engines now usually use 5/16", they used to use 1/4", which was fine for the 9.9's and such. when the big outboards (175 and up) came out they would starve for fuel with the smaller gas lines until they went to 3/8" ID.
