I got a call from a gentilman in canada.He wanted to know if it would profitable for him to buy a bandsaw mill,set up a kiln to bring to the states
carving wood for decoy carvers would there be a big enough market any input would be welcomed. best,Bill

I have been selling quite a bit of cedar carving blocks to other carvers around the country and also at some shows. His biggest hurdle will be finding a market for the other 95% of what he cuts because it wont be of high enough quality to carve. At least that is what I find with the mills I go to here. Most of them are cutting for trim and construction and when they get clear stuff they set it aside for me. Of course I pay a premium for it as well.
