Who has a rig of these?

I just traded for six of the Standard Mallard decoys made in Ohio. What do people get for these today on the market? Would they be worth gunning over or selling ?

I loved the Mag Black Ducks......those goofy decoys fooled a ton of Black Ducks for me....

I loved the bodies, but the heads were pretty brittle, especially around the eye sockets. If you bought unfinished heads and were too rough putting the plastic eyes in you would put your whole thumb thru the side.

Just scanned the posts on Restle. I have a rig of these diveers from the original family. I have replaced the old small squaty heads with Autumn Wings, sanding the base for various angles of mounting prior to attaching them. The decoys while soft poly beads are much improved if one cares to go that route. PS the old designed mallards were very good when removing the keels and just letting a slight wind move them around-----this application of course can only be used in Beaver ponds and small sloughs.

What heads do you use for your decoys Dave?

I bought as many Herters as I could when they were being liquidated, but they are mostly gone now. I had molds made and have my own line of heads now, very similar to Herters, but made differently, a little more pliable and very tough. I haven't been able to break one yet............and I've tried. Many of my heads are wood also.

I bought about 7 or eight dozen from Toledo a few years ago and fitted them with Toledo heads. Tried to get some more this spring but hes all out. Really great decoys in my opinion. I have some restle geese that I might part with if there is any intrest. Just scored over 100 solid foam mag bodies . I dont know who made them ,maybe Otter. They are from Iowa, thats all I know. In the process of trestle coating.
