Will be Utility testing Hogan and Phoenix in about 3 weeks and part of the test is the duck search. I think they will pass with flying colors.
I had better not start bragging yet.
Ever heard the old saying, "Never brag about your dog until it is dead"
Hogan just loves to find those ducks.
Had a beautiful day for dog training.
Here is some pics of our training day.

Then we worked with Phoenix.
In the one picture you can barely see her swimming up to the far bank.

Gary,

GSP's are great duck dogs. That nose can find a duck in the thickest cattail and they swim like a fish. My dog Ozzy is half GSP and black Lab and he's a great duck dog in the early season. Too bad his pink belly keeps him out of the really cold stuff.

Good luck at the field trials!

I think you made the argument for the counterpoint.

Having owned one, I agree. Thanks for posting those shots and good luck in the coming trials.

I have had two GSPs and both of them despised water. In fact the second one would avoid it at all costs. He was one heck of a upland dog though.

Good luck at the test.

Not me!!
Every year my oldest manages to go out and retrive a few, although at 12 he is pretty content to
yet the younger pup get most of them.
As a matter of fact he HATES water unless its to go get a duck:)
Then its ok.
