Nothing big for me this year. Planning to go to Haines AK in mid Oct for a long weekend of coho fishing and seas ducks, but that's about it. Staying close to home.

What about you?

Mike

Top of Moosehead Lake for grouse first week of Oct.

Top of New York State for Thanksgiving - ducks, stocked pheasant.

Depending on how some things work out, I'll be heading to Suttons' place for a week of fun filled adventure...sea ducks, puddlers, perhaps some upland...gotta decide...

other than that I'll likely stick close to home

Headed out to North Central Montana the end of October for pheasants, grouse, huns and antelope. Should be great! I've got a 1 year old Pudelpointer I've been working on and this will be his first hunting trip so I can't wait to see how he does.

Andrew please tell me youre not one of the countless out of staters who goes up to Moosehead and shoots pahtridge on the ground........ We use to go up there every year for grouse, use almost have to kick them to get them to fly. Watch out for the spruce grouse too, illegal to shoot in Maine, and theres a large poplulation around Kokadjo area. Big difference between northern birds and southern birds ..... I'm heading up early Oct. to hunt ducks on Merrymeeting Bay.

hahhaha.. I have to laugh at your comment because I've reformed my buddy who has the place up there who likes to sit in the truck if you know what I mean... ; )

No, I'm a dog and hike guy. It's all by the ethical book - honest.

I'm going to Mikes place. Actually, I'd love to take Blake up there to hunt with Mac and learn what it is to get something regularly. UP end of Oct. Hope the birds co-operate.

Heading up to Maine for Woodcock in October. Heading north in NY for Ducks and Geese in October/November. Two seperate trips two different counties. Can't wait.

I use to hunt that area and further up on the pinkham rd and realty rd. We use to "troll" for partridge and when one was spotted we'd get out scare the bird to flight and then shoot it. But I use to see guys "sit in their cars" and hunt them a lot!!! Not much fun if you ask me. Use to use my .410 & 20 gauge, nothing much bigger was ever needed. Watch for game wardens up there, they dont drive around in the big green chevy trucks as usual, look out for white chevy s-10 pickups. .......

I plan to open the Mn season out home on the SD border and then the next weekend in NW Wisc. Third weekend will find me in ND. That's all the plan for now because as a buddy likes to say " that's why they are called migratory". Footloose and keep the camper packed. Before you know it it will be over!

I'm taking two weeks of vacation the first part of November to try and catch the peak of the migration here in eastern SD.

Leave for Eastern Alberta next weekend. 7 day duck/ goose (or should I say goose/ duck as we might be a tad early) combo trip. Went in Mid/ late October last year and the geese were starting to dwindle but the ducks were ridiculous. Can't wait.

Going out the back door and down to the dock. Get in the boat. Still don't know if I'm going up river or down.

Biggest trip this year is to the oher side of Narragansett bay here in RI. It should take a whole hour to get there , may have to pack a lunch for this trip ( Sorry RI humor) .
