Wildfowl Mag "contest"

Last December I got a wild urge to "compete" and wrote up the plans on how to build my folding dog step that fit over the side deck of a BB3. The Wildfowl "you built it" contest rules stated that the winners would be notified by the end of March. No notification came so I thought that that was that. "I'm a loser baby..... so why don't you make me a sammich."

So tonight I finally get around to opening up my two weeks of mail and there is Wildfowl. And there was my dog step as a honorable mention. All those photos and drawings and the text and it was wacked down to one photo and a good portion of the text. At least my photo was published correctly. The other honorable mention was also a dog step but the photo is 90 degrees out.

And to think second place was a mesh basket screwed to the wall of a blind. Intellect and skill lost out to a bath basket from Walmart. At least I know what their standards are for next year.

Well Lance, congrats on your "honorable mention".

Do they give you a hat or a movie pass or something(for one of course). A free issue of Clay Potter magazine?

Ray, Therein lies the kicker, they had to pick something any half wit could duplicate. Anything which takes much effort is considered too involved for the masses.

My reward Jay is to continue to pay for my subscription for another year.

Its June now and I need to go fishing.
