A good example of be careful what you ask for:

We don't see many forecasts like this, our normal high is 62, normal low is 36, they are even talking snow again Sunday night.

New Year's Day
Mostly sunny, with a high near 41.
Breezy, with a north wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Monday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 22.
North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Tuesday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 42.
Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Tuesday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 25.
Wednesday
Sunny, with a high near 46.
Wednesday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 26.
Thursday
Sunny, with a high near 42.

Im not sure about wind speeds but we are actually being told possibility of snow here too. Our normal highs and lows are about the same as yours. Im really hoping that with all of the hard freezing up north, we will have a great woodcock weekend...we shall see

Aren't those summer type temps???[w00t]

Its all relative to where you live!!!!
We see lows in the 20s maybe 10 times in a winter.

it will be about zero when our little band of duck hunters shoot clays on new year's eve morning

late season started a couple days ago- I expect the little moving water in the marsh in now frozen over - i was surprised how much ice was on the bigger lakes when we made a run to the wineries yesterday

Thats what you get for living in the tundra, Tim.

I got frostbite reading those temps

Noticed road crews here in delawhere brining the roads in anticipation of a dusting to one inch of snow for tonight. Considering the temperature is less than 25 and due to drop overnight, I wonder how valuable brining is for our highways and byways[angelic]

As Phil said, we've got the same temps going on over here in Iowa.

Dani is probably the only gal I know who can get a tan while claiming frostbite. [whistle]

Yeah, it looks like this cold is going to be wide spread. At least I have my annual after Christmas cold so sitting inside doesn't sound so bad.

Dani, once you get use to it it's no big deal. Slap me if I ever get use to -20. A few years ago I was out icefishing in the middle of nowhere when it was -30. It took a lot of antifreeze to keep us going in the heated wheelhouse. ;)

George,
Our street department in their infinite wisdom treated our streets this morning. It was 8 at the time and an inch of snow had already fallen. 2 more inches fell and it didn't warm up any. I have no idea what they thought it would do at these temps.

Tim

22 below here this morning. We did get above zero for a few hours in the afternoon, with a high of 2. Officially, duck season is open until January 4, but it's over for me.

The most snow I’ve seen at one time is 10” but it just melted fast cause it gets warm again quickly. Highest temp for this week is 40* rest of the week is near or below freezing and nights in the teens, haven’t had weather like this in 4 years and the duck hunting has been crap those years, finally got something other than wood ducks, buffleheads, and ruddy ducks today

We don’t have moon tides here but we get wind tides that can last for weeks. In the winter the water gets low and spring and summer we have flooding. Today I went to check on my blind and it was dry ground, and more north wind to come so tide might get further out.

Where ya at Ben?
Here on Lake Erie the closest thing to tides is wind driven and the difference from a south
to a northwest wind can be considerable .
Hope your season ends well, John
