I see that there is record high tides & coastal flooding in NJ & Delaware.
Everyone OK?

Hope everyone in the path from the Carolina's to CT is OK and is hunkered down with warm fireplace and a nice adult beverage!

South Jersey is getting hit hard with tidal flooding and they have at least two more high tide cycles to go. Friend of a friend in Sea Isle had 18" of water on his first floor on this morning's high tide... not good.

Finished snow blowing 6 neighbors, now back inside, listening to Wagner-Tannhauser(sp) live from Met, painting a black duck-16 inches around Dover so far, and now getting windy, with snow still coming, Looks like i will be blowing snow again tomorrow. Making a pot of duck breast chili for Sunday, also. Full moon, east wind, high tide events usually fill the back bay areas and water normally hangs out until wind shifts. Man, right now, i would love to have pics of the dunedoggle at prime hook. Bet there has been at leat one breach in a no win piece of government lunacy. Sand just doesn't stay put, unless there is a stone breakwall that might hold and catch stuff.

Snug as a bug in a rug now. Gunned this morning til 8 solo. It was getting hairy boat was iced up real bad and snow covered so I pulled out while I was ahead in case my luck ran out . 1 mallard 1 goose both banded in Quebec. . Great morning

Don't forget us southern boys- I've got 6"-8" in TN depending on where I measure. Roads are crap so no hope of getting out this weekend. Oh well, I've got decoys that need painting.

Over 2ft here so far. Still snowing and blowing. Lost 2 tent shelters last night in spite clearing them last at 10:30. But a foot overnight and winds were too much.

All I can say is ducks closed Wednesday and we finally got our birds this week.

Saturday would have been an epic hunt.

I probably have around 26" on the ground, measuring from the middle of my paddock area where there is no drift, my mailbox is almost covered with the snow drift which is pretty wild.

i drive 200-500 miles a day all over lower new england.

i stopped in RI on thursday, i literally saw thousands of whistlers.

it is pathetic how small an amount of birds CT gets compared to RI, NY, and MA.

I can speak for a lot of us down here in NJ that are thankful for our coastal season going until the 30th this year. Have shot more birds in the past couple weeks than all season...

I'm surprised a coup hasn't been organized to overthrow the tyrannical Mihn, yet.

we want our coastal zone to go to feb but he won't allow it

Just got back from 24 hours of running the tractor plowing snow for a landscaper. Had at least 20 inches of snow on the ground! Made for some tough plowing since it was coming down so fast.

I got 29 inch accumulation at JFK. I am unfortunately, AA snow ops manager. We are not finished melting the 80 acres yet. Will take until Thursday to complete that. The Christmas storm in 2010 was about the same. Friend said that the ducks were all over West Merrick Bay on Friday morning. Guessing they get pushed ahead of the storm. They had a great day hunting.

if it were up to me duck season wouldnt start until barnegat bay was 50% ice (By area) or january 15 (which ever came first) and run 60 consecutive days not including sundays

I'd have to agree with you on that. I am liking the 5 bird change though
